Vancouver will welcome the indie rocker trio of The Cribs to VENUE on Granville Street this June! The three English brothers, Gary, Ryan and Ross Jarman, may of had humble beginnings in Wakefield, England playing in an abandoned warehouse, however they soon became well known throughout the United Kingdom and worldwide, producing 4 successful studio albums from 2004 to 2009. A handful of collaborations with notable musicians, including the likes of Edwyn Collins of Orange Juice, Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth and Franz Ferdinand‘s own Alex Kapranos, have lent further merit to their musical talents. At one point in time, they also toured for several years as a fourtet with Johnny Marr, of both Modest Mouse and The Smiths fame, in tow.
Returning to their original trio count for 2012, the band of brothers have just released (on May 15) their latest endeavour, a 5th studio album dubbed, In the Belly of the Brazen Bull. The album carries on with the traditional lo-fi/garage pop sound that has endeared them to their fans over the last decade.
